STATEMENT

My work involves settings in which everyday life encounter the politics of memory. Various recordings: my own and found footages, literary notes, diaries, photographs and other archived documents interact (or haunt each other) through subsequent essayistic montage. With this, it is the 'cinematic thinking' that enables me to track and capture the interplay of shared past, daily coexistence and things to come.

My long-term investigations narrate and relate personal and shared experiences, protagonists and circumstances, histories retold and events that have occurred since. Shifting and intersecting layers - as in a reminiscence - require reflective participation from spectators. The ambition is to revive a form of shared mind, visual and textual entanglement that flows through one's self, the other and time.

These essays combine various media - video, writing, photography, music and drawing - that occasionally come together in a spatial installation.

OTHER THOUGHTS:

in general - montage - protagonists - spectators - media - music - language - limits of our tribes...
